PACE researchers win the 2019 VLSI Transactions Best Paper Award.

PACE researchers Jason Eshraghian, Ciyan Zheng and Professor Herbert Iu win the 2019 IEEE Transactions on Very Large Scale Integration Systems Prize Paper Award for their paper titled “Neuromorphic Vision Hybrid RRAM-CMOS Architecture”.

Renewable Energy and Micro-Grids (REM) Workshop

We are pleased to invite you to attend the Renewable Energy and Micro-Grids (REM) Workshop on 3 April 2018 at the University of Western Australia, which will showcase the broad renewable energy and micro-grids research undertaken at UWA. Attendees will also have the opportunity to liaise with like-minded academics in their field and create new networks to expand their own and UWA’s research impact.

This workshop will also serve the proposal of a new ERO research group in Renewable Energy and Micro-Grids (REM).

MEMRISTOR / CMOS – FUTURE TECHNOLOGIES WORKSHOP

We are pleased to invite you to attend the Memristor / CMOS – Future Technologies Workshop on 27 Feb 2018 at the University of Western Australia, which will see a number of experts in the field presenting, discussing and challenging common ideas related to the future direction of integrated circuits, and how memristors are reshaping the landscape of circuits and systems as we know it. This workshop is supported by the Australia-Korea Foundation and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Dr. Samson S. Yu starts working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in PACE

Dr. Samson S. Yu has completed his PhD study within the PACE research group and started working as a postdoctoral Research Fellow in PACE at the School of EECE, UWA, 1st December 2017. Within his PhD study, Samson achieved exceptional research outcome with an international recognition, and has received 1st and 2nd prizes of IEEE Australia Council Paper Competition in 2015 and 2016 respectively. His full research profile can be found on his Google Scholar and also the Publication section of PACE website.

Recognizing his outstanding performances and demonstrated capability in continuing his career in Academia, Professor Tyrone Fernando, the Director of PACE, has appointed the position of Postdoctoral Research Associate for him to continue making contributions to original research, HDR students and funding management and diverse administrative assignments.

 

IEEE CASS Outreach Initiative (Malaysia-Western Australia): Special Talks on Emerging Technologies on Circuits and Systems

IEEE Circuits and Systems (CAS) Malaysia Chapter Presenting in PACE Seminar

The special talks at PACE seminar were presented by invited special guests from IEEE Circuits and Systems (CAS) Malaysia Chapter presented two technical reports on (1) Graphene Quantum Dots (GQD) for advancing photovoltaics (PV) material technology and (2) printed sensors for ion detection, both of which were given by postgraduate students from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Dr. Mohd Nazim Mohtar, senior lecturer at UPM also gave a special talk on IEEE CAS for the purpose of promoting the IEEE CAS society in Western Australia.

PACE PhD student James Fletcher announced as a finalist of WAITTA award

PACE PhD student James Fletcher announced as a finalist of the 26th Annual WAITTA INCITE Awards for his PhD project entitled “Distributed Generation for Rural Areas”, supported by Western Power. He received the finalist certificate from Hon. Dave Kelly MLA, Minister for Water, Fisheries, Forestry, Innovation & ICT and Science at the “Innovation Excellence” forum held on 7 April 2017.
